hi all,

welcome to new guests, brady goss and david parker.

tyler spesick held on to win most improved by 1 point over tom douglas with dave mead coming in third.

in the best record category, another spesick (tom) known as tylers dad took first place with dave mead in second and barely getting in enough playing times but taking third was bill kochenderfer.

as requested, i will have everyones win/loss record available next week.

we will be awarding trophies to the top three finishers in each category. the trophies have been ordered and we should be able to award them on 1/10.

i hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season and looking forward to a great 2007.

thanks to don straits for running wednesdays round robin.

with wednesdays capacity being strained we would encourage all first time players to initially experience play on mondays. this will not only provide for a less hectic introduction to our club, but will also allow us to place you in a competitive group, if you then desire to play on wednesdays.

if on a wednesday evening, you think you will be late, please call greg (530) 878-0170, or myself (530) 878-2602. if you reach us, we will put you on a table. please take extra care in providing legible writing when recording your match scores. i hate to see anyone not getting credit for a win.

congratulations to group winners: dave mead, lee parker and vir gaerlan.

hi all,

welcome to new guests, eric holmes and greg diaz.

the story of the year has to be tyler spesicks quantum leap into first place in our most improved category. if he can hold on for 1 more week, he will walk off with the 1st place trophy. in the best record category, its a virtual dead heat for 3rd with jeff graden, bill kochenderfer and micah chavez.

we will be awarding trophies to the top three finishers in each category.

i hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season and looking forward to a great 2007.

i will be out of town next week; so thanks to don straits for running wednesdays round robin.

hi all,

welcome to new guests, phil boyte and nahum pineiro.

this week, the usa nationals, the 2nd most prestigious table tennis tournament in the u.s. is being held in las vegas. dave mead and larry scott are participating and we wish them the best of luck and look forward to them showing off their trophies.

for those of you not following our best record and most improved player contests, with only two weeks remaining it appears that tom douglas has a lock on 1st place in the most improved tom spesick and dave mead are running too close to call for 2nd and 3rd. the dark horse here is tyler spesick who, although 46 points behind his dad is moving up a group next week and with potentially higher rated players to battle, he could pull off a big upset.

in the best record category, tom spesick has a comfortable lead followed by dave mead. for third place it is head to head with jeff graden holding a miniscule lead over bill kochenderfer.

we will be awarding trophies to the top three finishers in each category.

hi all,

welcome to mondays new guests, david unruhe and on wednesday, a face not seen since the early days of our club, ryce hopkins.

i believe our general meeting on saturday morning was highly successful. twenty of us showed up to have breakfast and share some of our thoughts and ideas that could make our club stronger and better for all participants. i wish to thank gerry mifsud for his taking of minutes, food prep and being the opening act. i also want to thank bill indreboe for bringing some of the coffee and food and keeping gerry from cutting himself and for setting up the room thanks to mel starkey. we inaugurated 3 new members to the steering committee and one current member was reassigned. the full committee with responsibilities will be posted within a few weeks on our website. as soon as the committee votes on a couple issues raised at the meeting, i will send out an email of that result plus other issues brought up.

one item that will commence immediately is monthly detailed reporting to me by greg of preventative maintenance accomplished on out tables, nets and standards. bill indreboe, eric andrus and bill kochenderfer will help out greg on this. as everyone recognizes, squeezing out a few extra months of life from these assets is crucial to the clubs financial well-being.

as our numbers grow, it becomes more and more important to arrive and sign in prior to 7:00 pm. also to prevent unnecessary loss of time, if you desire not to play in the round robin please inform me or my designate before 7:00 pm.
