as you probably have noticed, there is a donation jar at the sign in desk. the contents of which will be donated to local school(s) in form of a ping-pong table or other, depending on the generosity of the club members. the community thru ard provides a place for us to play at a reduced cost, so this is one way we can give a little back to the community.�

we held our quarterly pizza night this last wednesday. as far as i could tell, all had a great time. since everyone participating was a winner this evening, and the fact that there was several irregularities in score keeping, a formal winning team could not be determined unless based only on the composition of the teams in which case the �orange� team won.

we will continue with the option of �open play� along with our regular round robin on wednesday evenings. as i see it, a possible use for �open play� on wednesdays might be where you and a partner might want to just drill or where a sufficient number of players arrive late and would still like to play although it is too late for the �round robin�.

we held an initial meeting this past saturday to begin our journey towards having a usatt sanctioned tournament with trophies and cash prizes of $1000. we have a lot of variables to check into but the enthusiasm seems to be there to make it a reality. more later.

our experiment with wednesday evening �open play� has not been successful, however, we will leave the option there for anyone whom might wish to use it. the fee for �open play� will be the same $4/$2.� as i see it, a possible use for �open play� on wednesdays might be where you and a partner might want to just drill or where a sufficient number of players arrive late and would still like to play although it is too late for the �round robin�
